New fan of AFI here. I like their hardcore punk stuff, love everything they’ve ever made…two of these songs are a LITTLE weak, but I still enjoy them. Great job, guys!! Keep up the good work!

I’m hoping after a couple spins this album will grow on me. Out of the entire album they’re some gems ... “breathin” and “everytime” being two of them. A step back from her last album, which I loved!... (2018-08-23 22:42:34)

I have watched the movie 4 times so far, and I still like the movie and its soundtrack, but I wish it would maybe just stop clogging up space on the top 40 chart and make way for newer artists coming in... (2018-09-03 23:04:20)

Love this song, been waiting for it for a long time... Just purchase it today, and when it got to 0:40" it paused automatically... ... (2018-08-23 23:49:10)

On the plus side I liked a couple of the tunes out of 10. These songs basically sound like tunes by committee. Well crafted lightweight whiffle. The singer deserves all the accolades she gets, especially with this material. The whole project is light in the loafers to me, or as my daughter put it, ‘Ehhhh”. I was hoping for something as strong as...... (2018-08-24 00:13:31)

I literally can’t stop listening to this song it’s just beautiful!... (2018-08-23 23:25:04)

AFI fan since hearing them on 'Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3' back in 2001. To this day, I have not been disappointed by anything they've put out. However, with recent releases like: 'Burials' & 'The Blood Album'; they have been "growers". At first I think "Okay, not bad"; then the more I listen to them, the more they grow on me and eventually I fall in love with the songs. With The Missing Man EP, it's the same thing. I fell in love with 'Trash Bat' & 'Get Dark' right off the bat. The other 3 songs have slowly grown on me. Looking forward to a full album soon (fingers crossed). My one gripe is that there was NO CD release. All in all, this is an excellent EP.

  • Nothing New But Newish For Them

This Ep Kind of reminds me of the experimental music of the promise ring and other indie bands around 2000-2003 or 4 trying to find thier sound, or in a sense “wading through sounds” to try to find melody. It’s not a new sound but new for them and I kind of like it, it adds a different texture for the band without losing the Afi that I’ve loved from day one

  • Great New EP from AFI

"The Missing Man" is a great addition to AFI's music catalog. All 5 songs sound great. It opens with the quick rock of "Trash Bat" that I absolutely love. Next comes "Break Angels" and "Back into the Sun". Both are good and keep growing on me. Next comes "Get Dark" which is probably the most catchy of them all, so I get why it was the first single. Finally, the title track: "The Missing Man". It is a beautiful and heart-breaking song that shows the band's growth. It is my favorite track of the EP. Overall: highly recommend to AFI fans and anyone else who likes quality music.
  • Impressed.

This feels much more inspired and interesting than their last full length. Although the blood album was technically proficient and well written, it was somewhat lackluster overall. This ep is perhaps their best collection of songs since december underground. It has atmosphere, grit, darkness, and rich texture. It really felt like a solid contribution from all 4 musicians. As impressive as the guitar and melody was, I think the most outstanding musicianship is the drumming. It's complete, intricate, creative, driving, and still manages to complete the overall track. Haven't been that wowed by drums since Aenima maybe.
